FAQ
How fast does a foreclosure case move once service is complete?
Under the order-to-show-cause procedure, the court can’t set a hearing sooner than 20 days after the order to show cause is served, or 45 days after the initial complaint is served — whichever is later. (Fla. Stat. § 702.10(1)(a))
Do HOA and condo lien foreclosures follow the same rules as mortgage foreclosures?
They’re filed and served the same way a mortgage foreclosure is, but with their own notice requirements first — see our HOA page for details on the pre-suit notice steps associations must follow.
